February 4, 2007. (Makaha, HI) The 7 am start was a bit ambitious for the Beachboy Surfing division of the 31st Annual Buffalo Big Board Championships. It was FREEZING (65 degrees). At 7:20, even though the sun hadn't crept over the mountains, the heat was on! It was a gathering of great watermen : Jamie Micthell, Mick Dibetta, Jay Butki, Aaron Napoleon, Jim Foti, Kekoa Auwai, Russ Keaulana, Brian Keaulana, Blane Chambers, Dave Parmenter, Archie Kalepa, Bonga Perkins, Bunky Bakutis, Duane DeSoto, Dino Miranda, and the list goes on and on... The Discovery Channel was filming a show called Blank Canvas about tattoos, but they got some good stand up surfing action as well. Check out this quick video clip and a few snapshots.... the action continues February 10th and 11th at Makaha!
